A date

This cabin:

and I have got a date tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully tonight.

Cute isn't it?

I'm going there to take more photos because it has been there for, oh, I don't know, probably 50 years. It was last used in 1992, and now they've decided they're taking it down in May! So I'm heading out to get as many memories as possible because there is something about rundown old buildings that is just so appealing to me. It's beautiful.

Apologies

I came home from the trip on Monday night, but I haven't been keeping up to date and what not, because I've been sick. I'm feeling much better today though, so I'll get back on track! :)

Almost done...

GOPHER!!

Today we ALL had to wake up early just so we could get the girls choir to their performance at 8:40. Then we had to stay there until about 1:00 so they could do their clinic. Finally, we left to go the Old Spaghetti Factory. Upon boarding the Love Bus, I saw Landon looking quite ... uhm, manly? in Sarah's mom's shirt.

I am not a huge fan of the Spaghetti Factory ... or restaurant pasta in general. Pastas in restaurants are either undercooked, overcooked, or seriously lacking in flavour. This particular time, it was lacking in flavour and I think was a tad undercooked. We had about an hour to wander around afterwards, and I went to the drugstore and found some fun things. These fake nails were only $2 per (hopefully they work okay, if not I think I should have some better glue at home), and these are the COOLEST cards I have ever seen! The queens are the best. They are Bicycle brand, and they're called "Tragic Royalty."

We went straight back to the Centre after that hour was over, so the jazz kids could do some workshops. The rest of seriously had nothing to do all day, but wait around in the Centre. At least I had some cards now! Actually we were playing with my Nightmare cards ... well, now I had TWO decks.

At 6:00 the orchestra played. We were the ONLY strings group in the whole festival. I'm not sure if that's really cool, or kind of embarrassing in a way, haha. And when we went out there to the audience, which was pretty much only our school, we were greeted like we were a rock band or something, because they were all yelling and making such noise, already it is not your typical orchestra concert. I felt we did really really well in our performance. We don't have clinic til tomorrow, so I guess we won't find out how we did til then. And, being the only strings group, they don't even have anyone there who knows about strings. Should be ... interesting.

Next we had a "student social" thing. All the schools were invited to a little dance kind of thing, so we went and we were the only school there for the first hour ... Finally when another school showed up, they kept to themselves a lot. Last year when our school went a festival in Toronto, there were so many people to meet at the dance and it was so much fun! But this time, it was very different. Also, we had a live band playing, and they covered two of the five bands that should never be covered. Those bands are: No Doubt, Heart, Queen, Michael Jackson, and the Police. The nerve!!

Valerie, me, Kei Lei. Valerie is probably the ONLY cool female Juggalo I have ever met. She's awesome. Kei Lei probably doesn't have a clue what a Juggalo even IS. But she's cool too :) This is a terrible picture! Haha.

Our school left early ... blah, I was having fun turning love songs into hardcore mosh pits. They wanted us to go to a jazz concert, which turned out to be really fun. I personally love jazz. Unfortunately halfway through, I got a huge headache and every sound they made hit me in the forehead and shoved my brain out my ears and I had to sit outside for a bit. I'm hoping it's just because I'm tired. I'm so glad that we are leaving tomorrow.

BLIZZARD BLIZZARD BLIZZARD

This is what today looked like:

There are quite a few pictures in this entry, so let's get started, shall we?

So we went to the theatre again this morning so the jazz choir could perform. We had nothing to do during the jazz workshop/clinic so we found a little coffee shop/juice bar and had some muffins and bagels and tea. Inside that building, we found an atomic clock!

We had to Google what an atomic clock was ... I still don't quite understand, but apparently it is the most accurate measurement of time ever.

We found the condom machine in the bathroom to be absolutely hilarious and I just had to buy one!

The first photo says "In four daring neon colours" and the second says "4 delicious scents." Strawberry, banana, vanilla, spearmint ... I got vanilla. It smelled terrible.

Some silly pictures of me and the friends that like to play with my hair.

After the clinic we ventured out into the snow to do some shopping. Look at all the delicious little treasures I found!

We went for supper at Chili's and overflowed our booth with the lot of us. This is the closest I was able to get to a picture of everyone.

I went to the hot tub for the last time this evening (if I go tomorrow night I will have to pack a wet swim suit ... YUCK). Someone was having their bachelor party so there were so many drunk old men and I guess I'm pretty hot or something because I got hit on in the most disgusting ways ...
Our strings teacher came to our room to give us instructions for tomorrow and lunch money. She also showed off the pretty bruised foot which she received yesterday when she rolled her ankle.

Well, I should head 'er to bed because we're supposed to be on the bus by 7:40 tomorrow and we're all getting pretty tired by now.

Day 2

Look what happened overnight!

It had all just melted back home, too! As much as I LOVE snow, I'm kind of ready for it to be summer ... At least it's pretty warm today!

My roommates are kind of silly ... they used a LOT of soap in the dishwasher and there was a huge mess to clean up.

I didn't get a picture of it AFTER they had opened the door, but there were bubbles EVERYWHERE. We had to do a lot of scooping, transferring the bubbles to the bathtub to send them off down the drain and what not ... some girls just lack commonsense, I guess. I wonder how much soap they DID put in, because there was seriously a LOT of bubbles.

Anyway, here is the bear that stands just outside the hotel lobby. I made friends with him.

We started the day with a choir performance. Oh my gosh, the adjudicator was so cute! He was most likely gay (well, OBVIOUSLY gay) and he said stuff to us like, "You guys were just so delicious," and, "You're hot and you know it!" He didn't really have anything bad to say about our group either. He just gave us some tips on musicality. Our conductor likes to make sure we are very precise with our diction and intonation, but she doesn't really get us into the music ... does that make sense?

This is a mountain outside the centre where we were performing. Breanna and I could see a face in it.

There was also a bust of Bela Bartok inside the centre. I always laugh about Bartok because the name Bartok always sounded like a Pokemon to me. Apparently he was NOT a Pokemon, because this bust looks pretty much human.

After the choir's adjudication we watched the jazz band perform, then stuffed 100 people into the little hot springs, then went to a concert featuring some choral groups from Vancouver. I thought it was silly that they put the hot springs right in between everything because my eyebrows could have melted off! Do you see the potential danger? The choirs were very good though, and we had a good time.

Also, we christened the purple bus "the Love Bus" today.

We made it.

We have arrived.

We left bright and early this morning (7:00) to head out for the Rocky Mountain Music Festival. In order to be on time, I woke up at 5:30 (I'm pretty clumsy so I had to make sure I remembered everything). You just wish YOU looked this good at 6AM!

Our bus was half an hour late, but I had to forgive the driver because 1) he looks like he could be a biker ... or maybe a pro-wrestler and 2) our bus was bright purple!

So yeah, this whole day was spent travelling via the beautiful purple bus. We arrived at our destination an hour early despite the bus being so late to pick us up, so we had time to do some grocery shopping (breakfast was not provided, and I DID forget something - I had to get some razors). The condos we are staying at are so adorable, they're like little cabins.

The view of the living room from upstairs.

There are eight of us in here, and four beds. Delena and I are sleeping on the hide-a-bed. There is also a "naturally-heated hot pool" here. It started to rain but I wanted to go check it out anyway! So I got on my swimsuit and walked there like this:

My protruding ribcage and I must be crazy!

After a nice long soak, it was time for bed. And I leave you with an epic view of the mountains.

Evil clouds ...

After school, I was sitting on my deck enjoying ANOTHER 30 degree day pondering what I should do, when I saw our black cat, who we call BlackCat. I had the impulse to take his picture, so I did. He was very camera shy though, and the only one I managed to take of his face was one with his tongue sticking out.

Then I decided to go to the library because I had a book to return, and as I was heading out the door Alex phoned me. Since he lives close to the library, he just walked there and I drove and met him there. They didn't have the book I want right now, so I left empty handed but Alex let me borrow some books of his. That's nice of him =)

Me and Alex just hung out at my house for a bit. Maigyn wanted us to come to a little shindig thinger at my church, so we went to pick up Lana and go to it. Unfortunately, she forgot to let us know that we had to pay to get in, so we ended up just turning around and going right back home. Ah well. We hadn't had supper anyway, so we came back to my house to eat some quasedillas. We played so many card games all evening. We even played extreme Spoons where we played on my kitchen table and placed the spoons at the top of the slides at the playground about six or seven houses down from mine. Lana took a video of it, but it is taking a very long time to upload, so for now, no video for us =(
After the hot hot day, these ominous clouds appeared.

(you can also see in this picture, none of the trees are even budding yet. The weather is NEVER this nice in April!)
For some reason in the picture, the clouds look a lot friendlier. It was actually really dark at this point. It rained for a bit, but it is now 1:17 AM and it hasn't stormed at all. There were a few thunder rumbles, but that was all. Hopefully this morning it storms! That would be cool.

I should be heading to bed pretty quick. I have to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow morning because my orchestra is going on a trip and we leave at 7:00. I have to make sure I have everything! I won't be able to update at all on the trip, but I am bringing my paper journal so I can record everything and I'll update all five missed days when I get back. Good night! See you next week!

Balloons!

Ohh, it's a jolly holiday with meeee...

Today was 30 degrees! It was GORGEOUS! And 30 degrees is CRAZY for April. Usually it doesn't get this hot until the middle of June!
The above picture actually has a pretty funny story behind it. Today is 4/20, or 'National Drug Bust Day.' It's pretty much just a made up holiday where everyone gets together in the park to smoke weed in order to mock the police. Personally, I think it's ridiculous. Anywho, Lana and I wanted to walk through the park after school just to look at the ridiculous stoners, and we stopped in the shade of a tree to wait for my dad to come and pick us up. A large group of people walked past carrying a ridiculous amount of colourful balloons, and two of them, who seemed to be pretty much trippin', said she liked my look and wanted me to pose with the balloons.

It's kind of fun living in a tiny redneck town, because when people see someone like me, they get confused. I often get asked for my picture around here. I don't really mind, in fact I find it kind of funny.

We also took a look at this cairn, and Lana remembered that there was a time capsule in it. Turns out they're opening it on

That's so soon! Kind of exciting ... I wonder if we were just as lame thirty years ago as we are now. I plan on being moved away from this dirty town by then ... but maybe if I remember, I'll come back just to take a look.

When we got home, we did a popsicle run to No Frills because it was just so unbearably HOT. Then Alex and Becky came over, and the plan was to sit outside and play cards, but it was just so HOT we had to come inside and watch the Office for a while until it cooled off a bit. Once it did we played some cards and walked to Subway for supper. Becky and Lana had to go home after a bit and Alex and I watched the Birdcage. And, when I got out of the shower and the bathroom window was open, I could hear so many coyotes howling, and that's cool. I also realized, I'm pretty good at describing the days events in one quick paragraph.

I'm worried I might be getting a tan!! I don't like tans ... I like to keep my nice, pale, goth vampire complexion.

A hurricane came...

... into my bedroom.

I'm usually not very slobbish, but I have been keeping myself busy and tiring myself out, so my room got kind of ... messy ...

... it's not too bad is it? :/

So as soon as I got home from school I got to cleaning it up. I had to stop after a while though, because we had delicious ribs for supper! I like ribs because I'm a CARNIVORE. Then I cleaned a bit more, but had to stop AGAIN because I was invited to my friend Maigyn's house. My room is not as clean as I would like it, but at least it's liveable in now.

I'll clean it better when I get the chance. My New Years' Resolution was to keep it tidy! I have been failing miserably at that ...
At least I don't mind cleaning, as long as I can listen to music while I do it!

So I went to Maigyn's house, and Sarah, Ange, Camille, Becky, and Lana (who is my BFF&E (and if you don't know, that stands for Best Friend Forever and Ever)) were there as well. Lana and I showed them our favourite music video which makes us laugh EVERY TIME. Busta Rhymes - Break Ya Neck. He is one of my favourite rappers because of all his superawesome energy. Maigyn then proceeded to show us some weird videos of her being a pussy while getting her tattoo. Quite entertaining, actually.

When it was time to go home, I ended up being the taxi for Sarah, Becky and Lana because I'm the only one who bothered to get their drivers so far ... at least Lana has her learners. She's the only one out of the lot. It wasn't so bad though, I just blasted Lordi and did some headbanging to vent my 'anger'.

I hate cats.

For some reason, cats like to adopt our family. A couple of years ago on Halloween, a black cat followed my sister home and stayed on our porch, wasting away until finally we had to feed him (we already had two cats, so we definitely had cat food). And as we all know, once you feed an animal, it's yours. We let the SPCA know that we found the cat, but no one claimed him and he became ours officially. One of the two cats we already had went out one day since then and probably got eaten by a coyote or something. I am the worst cat person in the world. Three cats is FOUR cats too many.
Yesterday, we found

THIS

on our front porch. She stayed there all day and she was still there this morning, so we took pity on her and let her in. I actually didn't mind this cat ... in fact, I think me and her got along quite well. And, as my brother so intellectually put it, she had a long middle part.

Long middle part.

She had such a cute face too. Our other cats just look like cats ... I don't know how else to explain it. But this kitty had the sweetest face. She was just such a sweetheart. My parents took her to the SPCA right away though. Those meanies! The SPCA gives five days for the owner to come and get her. After those five days, she goes up for adoption and I am going to get her! Hehehe <3

END RANT ABOUT THE CAT. I went to see Kick-Ass tonight with Alex and Naythan. It was actually a pretty good movie. I would reccomend it. It was funny and action packed and the romance stayed at a good low, which I like. I wasn't expecting how morbid it was though ... not that that's a bad thing. Nothing wrong with some nice, creative, twisted ways to die. Nothing wrong at all.

OMG EWWW

Heeey.

How are you liking my heavy blush and hot pink lips? Suits me, no? Maybe I should explain ...
I was asked to help with a family theatre project at my church called Studio Y?. They wanted to demonstrate the ridiculous-ness of addictions so they put on a fashion show and asked me to help out. I represented the addiction to candy.

I really felt and looked like a clown! Which makes me want to actually BE a clown even more! The other addictions were just as bizarre and creative ... it was a fun time. I apologize on behalf of my father for the terrible quality of the pictures ... oh Doug. We love him anyway sometimes.
Here we have the televison addiction, portrayed by Jen. I think it must have been SO hot inside that TV.
HEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!
Miss Hailey, the workaholic. NO FUN ALL BUSINESS ALL THE TIME
Becky represents an addiction to texting, and I thought her hair and makeup looked so Dita Von Teese-ish and pretty.
I'm afraid that my memory fails and I forget this person's name ... but she was addicted to working out.
This is Alexis, the shopaholic. Her hair was like Scary Spice.
I want to say her name was Samantha ... or at least I'm SURE it started with an S. Oh no I'm terrible! She had a caffeine addiction. She was also the makeup artist.
I love the CD belt! This is Allison and she was addicted to music.

And that was it for the fashion show. Studio Y? goes on with dances and skits and such, but I had to leave because me and Alex were going to see 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown' at the local theatre. I've already seen it but Alex hadn't, and he HAD to because I know so many people in it and they did such a good job! We hung out with the cast for a while afterwards then I went back to Alex's house with Torrance and we played Modern Warfare 2. Usually I can keep up with them points-wise, but not tonight. I was getting so MAD and we played through four whole rounds just because they thought it was hilarious to see me mad. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was hilarious. Around 2:00 we got hungry so we were going to go to IGA to pick up a frozen pizza, but IGA was closed for maintenance of some sort. GRRRRR. Make me even more mad ... so we settled for A&W, which is pretty decent because root beer is delicious. Then we watched James and the Giant Peach and good times were had by all.
THE END. and they all lived happily ever after! :D
